In my last blog, I explored the value of proven EPS foam cold chain packages for protecting life-saving pharmaceuticals that keep us all healthy.
Let’s focus this month on Integritemp’s cold chain package products & services, and the value we provide to pharmaceutical companies needing proven protection.
The value we offer starts with learning about the customer, their products, and their shipping/protection requirements. We offer a tailored solution based on the knowledge we gain during that learning process.
Learning process topics include:
· The safe temperature range for shipping the pharmaceutical. Examples include: typical 2-8 °C, sub-zero frozen, or even more moderate ranges from 15-25 °C.
· Typical payload/product size.
· Expected transit times for the product shipments, as well as any potential delay periods that need to be considered for worst case scenario protection.
· Any allowable temperature excursions outside of the safe range, including allowable time and temperature windows.
· Product exposure to different temperature and season profiles/conditions.
· Package decision differences based on seasons or weather, as well as considering different package protocols for differing conditions.
· We also delve into customer requirements and preferences such as:
o Preferred package materials
o Is dry ice acceptable for frozen items?
o Standard gel packs or moisture absorbing type?
o Gel packs or brick coolant packs that offer dimensional stability?
o Warehouse space limitations
We then utilize our combined 70+ years of cold-chain package design experience to propose a package system to the prospect or customer.
Let’s continue this discussion of the value proposition we bring to pharmaceutical shippers next month. Please watch for next month’s blog where I will continue our conversation with more facts, figures, and good news about EPS foam!
